Remove The Cookies
|
| I will try to make these directions as simple as
possible. One little thing before we get started though. (Always
remember
to use your left mouse button at all times unless I tell you to use the
right mouse button…) Now let’s get started. |
| So you want to get rid of your cookies do you? Well,
here is how to
do it. |
| 1.First of all click on the Start button on the bottom
left hand side
of the screen. (Remember to always left click when I say click unless
noted
otherwise). You should have a Menu that looks something like this.

(click thumbnail image to see larger image)
|
| 2.Now move up to the word Search this will open a menu.
On this new
menu click on find files. If you have Windows XP or WIndows 2000 the
window
will look like this.

(click thumbnail image to see larger image)
The Windows 98 search will look like this.

|
| 3. Okay now you want to type in the word (cookies) in
the Named box
for Windows 98 or the Search for files or folders named: box in Windows
Me, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. |
4. Once you have cookies typed into the box you will
want to click
the Find Now Button in Windows 98, and for Windows ME Windows XP or
Windows
2000 you want to click
the Search Now button.
The Search usually does not take to
long but it may so be patient. When the search finishes
you will see a list of all the files and folders on your computer that
have the word cookies in the name.
|
5. Now for the real fun part now we get to use the
right mouse button.
Click on the very first file in the list (one left click will work).
You just want to highlight the file or folder anyway. Okay now while
you
have the file highlighted, right click on the file one time. This will
give you a small menu. Click on thumbnail below for an idea of what you
should see.

(click thumbnail image to see larger image)
|
| 6. Now on this menu you should see the word delete move
your mouse
pointer down to the word delete and (Left) click on it. Now a small
window
should appear that will ask you to confirm that you want to delete this
file or folder click the yes button and the file or folder should
disappear
from the list.
|
| 7. Now repeat this procedure until all the files and
folders are gone.
Once you are finished click the close button at the top right corner of
the search window and this will take you to the main Desk top screen
again.
|
| 8. Now you should see an Icon on the main screen that
says Recycle
Bin. Right Click on this Icon and when the Menu appears left click on
Empty
Recycle Bin. This again will open a small window asking if you are
sure.
Again left click on the Yes button. When the job finishes the Recycle
Bin
Icon should change into an empty trash can.
|
| 9. Guess what you are finished with the removing of the
cookies.
